been through dawngard. as a non infected by the time i reached harkon, and as a were. If i reach him already a vamp. Will he up he to vamp lord or leave me a base vamp? Those of ya been that way. Can i expect other trouble from the dawn guard quests (maybe missing scripts activating not having harkon or serena do the initial conversion)?

You will probably not be able to start the quest. I believe when you get to Dayspring Canyon everyone will attack you if you are a vampire. You would need to get vamparism after getting the Dimhollow quest, but before going to Dimhollow.

All my vamp playthroughs I was already a vampire before meeting Harkon. Didn't have a single problem. Never got attacked or anything by visiting the Dawnguard at first. Actually, you get some funny dialogue where Isran says something along the lines of "This fort is such a ruin even a vampire could walk right in." I'm not too sure if you can get that dialogue while not a vampire.

But for the first quest, just starting out, the Dawnguard won't attack you as a vampire. They only attack if you side with Harkon.

Whats the world coming too when its vamp hunters can't tell there speaking too one.. good for them they have a dragon slayer willing to help out
