So I've heard the sun barrage that comes down from sunhallowed arrows only damages undead, then I've heard it damages everything just more damage to undead, like the arrows normal effect, then I've heard undead become a lightning rod for the barrage and that it just shoots randomly when there are just normal enemies around. Can anyone confirm just exactly what the sun barrage from the sunhallowed arrows being shot at the sun actually damages?
I've searched the forums and can't find a solid answer. Thanks in advance

Not random strikes, attacks enemies in area like storm call. The only time I used it was against bandits. Worked just fine. I have no idea about undead since you don't really meet many undead outdoors. (Apparently ghosts don't count as undead, my vampire bane spell has no effect on them.)

Basically it makes killing undead extremaly easy. For others - not so much. Master vampires are going down with maybe 2-4 hits max.

It's nice to attract dragons that are just circling above and can't be convinced to land otherwise (unless you have Dragonrend).

Like others have said, it doesn't just affect undead in your immediate area, but all enemies take the damage. It does cause extra damage to undead more than it does to "living" opponents. Though even living opponents take a healthy amount of damage as well. It's a pretty fierce attack.
