Is there a way to stop the Dawnguard from attacking all the

Post » Wed Nov 21, 2012 8:51 am

I have finished the MQ for DG. I am not even a vampire anymore. I thought the DG would stop attacking but nope they are still attacking me.

Is there any way to stop this? Am I missing a quest or something or am I stuck with these random attacks for the rest of the game now?

Well then either those people were wrong or theirs another glitch like how my vampire attacks keep going even though I finished the questline xD

I wouldn't know though. I've yet to do the radiant and the attacks are too few for me to be pushed into doing it lol

I've completed the DG quest-line, and I'm still getting attacked by Dawnguard out in the countryside. I don't mind - they're easy to deal with, either in VL form or summoning up an atronach or two and spamming fireball with the other claw. I can only imagine an archer would be thrilled, he'd be getting free bolts for his crossbow for life!

They're a good money source, heh.

On the other hand, I've yet to experience a vampire attack on a town, so I can't complain. (Didn't go into any towns during the quest-line.)

I'm not sure about that. I think they are not only radiant, but also location based. Someone would have to look in the creation kit's scripting to be sure, but I noticed that after I wiped them out and completed the vampire quest line, I stopped getting them, however there are certain areas such as half-moon mill where they will still spawn. But as Half-Moon is run by vampires, I believe this might be a location based thing.

Let me elaborate. CERTAIN attacks stop. For example, the Dawnguard will NEVER attack Castle Volkihar after a certain point. Furthermore, randomly generated attacks seem to decrease in frequency, but I know for a fact that they still happen, just like any radiant encounter.

I have Dawnguard but have been ignoring it. Not sure I want to go there. BUT....I have noticed that vampire attacks in towns are killing "friends." Characters I have gotten used to and don't want them to die and even worse the story line haveing to be adjusted to compensate for their deaths. Like the sister to the Riverwood Trader and the female blacksmith (Warmaiden) in Whiterun. In both cases I backtracked to a save prior to the vampire attack.
Is this happening because I have not taken vampire sides or is the game going to continue killing off minorly important characters; ones I have gotten used to and don't want to see killed.
Also, why is the human turning into an ash pile instead of the vampire? I have read a LOT of vampire literature and this is backwards. All literature is not the same and it varies and takes different liberities but it seems to be a constant that If anything at all turns to ash it is the vampire.

1. If you continue, attacks should greatly decrease.

2. They turn into ash because the vampires revive the corpses to fight for them.

Do you get vampire attacks on towns even without having visited the dawnguard castle? You might get vampire random encounters anyway.

The ahs piles is the rest of someone who has been raised from the dead with necromancy. You can do this yourself with necromancy spells.
Guess they use them to avoid you and enemies raising the same body many times.

You probably see that vampires raise each other, as an archer I see this a lot, you shoot one vampire, the other next by is alerted and raise the other one for defense.
