So I haven't started MQ yet and im doing the dawnguard questline to find elder scroll "dragon", the journal still mentions how I need it for Parthurnaax even if my character doesn't know of his existence.

I believe they just continue saying something along the lines of, "oh you already have it? good" then the story continues.
