Any way to get rid of Elder Scrolls?

Post » Wed Nov 21, 2012 12:57 am

This is making me slightly crazy. I did the Dawnguard side of first and was able to sell the Blood and Sun scrolls to Dexion. Now that I am doing the Vampire side, he has no option to sell them. Please don't tell me that I am stuck with 40 weight of scrolls in my inventory forever? Does anyone know how to get rid of them?

I am playing on the XBox 360.

Well I'm on PS3 so I'm not entirely sure but if its anything like the Dragon Scroll in the Main Quest or other quest-related items you should be able to put them in cupboards easily, and if not then finish the quest(s) they are tied to first.

Well, it sounds like you made the same mistake I did. I couldn't get rid of the Dragon Scroll until I used it for the main quest. So if you do Dawnguard before you do the MQ, you'll end up carrying it around for a bit . . .

At least that's how it's working in my game on the PC.

You're stuck with them if you're playing the Vampire side due to a scripting bug (what else is new with Bugesda?). The plus thing is that despite the listed weight, they actually weigh nothing, since all quest items weigh zero. If you don't believe me, find a chest and store everything - armor, potions, weapons, etc into it and you'll find the scrolls weigh zero. They're just there. Annoying to have them, yes, but at least they don't weigh you down.

Thanks josh and MaxRat. I have finished the Main Quest and sold one scroll to the Orc at the CoW. I tried storing the other 2 scrolls in a cupboard just now and get "quest items cannot be removed from your inventory".

Edit: Thanks JVR ... I believe you ... but they really are annoying.

It would be nice if we at least had a category called Quest Items so we don't have to see them when looking for other things.

I reckon they should let you sell it, but is never reset in the merchant's inventory and must buy back at a steeply inflated price.

There is another possibility here and that is that it may not tactically be a good move to get rid of them, there have been several quests to acquire them already and the game is called The Elder Scrolls=might be that they come in useful some other time.
