And by affiliated I mean that, Bethesda is producing this game while you - a seperate development team/company is developing it. And since they are licensing you the IP their say goes as far as what story you are allowed to portray or how you portray their universe.
The actual game though, you will have say in how its designed in terms of over all design such as graphic design, textures, mechanics, etc.
But now that you see I have a basic understanding of how things are going to work on this undertaking you may hear me out in my complaint.
I realize every artist is entitled to their own vision, I create art all the time. Look at this:

Not very good, I know. I mostly dabble in sprite art when I'm dreadfully bored.
So I understand somewhat, the challenges professional artists have when asked by a development team to make their "Creative Vision" a "reality".
But judging from what I've seen about this game:

I'll be honest, I realize you're well into design at this point, your team has set out to devlier it's goal "The Elderscrolls MMO, which can stand toe to toe to World of Warcraft." And well, I guess you're about there......
But I want you to take a look at this game;

This game radically morphed the graphic art stylings of it's predecessors. Simply to do what it is you already have.
The MMORPGification effect.
You're making the game cartoony. Stop it.
Elderscrolls looks like this:

It's a dark, rustic environment, not an MMORPG funzone.
But then, I guess thats the goal, to MAKE it an MMORPG funzone. ugh.
The zones are very flat, very, apparent. There is nothing hidden, it's all open.
One thing about World of Warcraft, that you won't believe. Is that ironically, it has kept to it's art styles true to the series.
Look if you don't believe me:

People insult this game all the time for it's "cartoony" graphics. The fact is, it's always been this way, in EVERY itteration. Always has, always will be,
But for SOME reason, now every other MMORPG developer believes that cartoony = MMORPGy. That doesn't make any sense.
What happened to keeping the feeling of game's predecessors in their MMO titles? What happened to this?
I can keep going on and on about what I think is wrong, or blah blah blah, till I am blue in the face. But take this friendly advice, no amount of MMO content, or features will keep people paying any subscription for long. They'll soon realize, that they've been there, they've done that. And their single player spin-offs offer more of what they crave in a more enthralling environment.
Though, you'll still sell well enough.
In terms of actual gameplay, I don't agree that you have taken away first persion perspective. This detracts greatly from the Elderscrolls feeling.
Also, why does a man in full plate armor have the ability to parkour roll off a 10 ft drop without taking any damage and then fight a giant, a MAMMOTH HERDER with a pithy 2 handed sword?
Because this is suddenly an MMORPG and that stuff can happened?
???
?????????????
I want to talk to you about a story, one day, like a couple months after Oblivion was released, I got bored. So I cheated the system by giving me levels. But I modded my value, so the game gave it to be naturally.
Do you know what happened next? Suddenly my whole game turned into something out of LEGEND and I had giant minotaurs coming out of the forests butchering EVERYONE. In fact, it became so unplayable I had to revert to an old save prior to my cheating.
Do you understand? Danger has always be inherent to the Elderscrolls. ALWAYS, You have dragons, you have Dremora, you have Crabmen, you have monsters, and NONE of it is scripted. There IS NO LITTLE ICON ON YOUR MAP TELLING YOU WHERE SOMETHING IS.
It's not NEEDED, and is a blatant insult to someone's intelligence. But I know what you're going for with this game. So Perhaps my complaints are undue.
But that's what I'm warning you about.
Sure, suuure, ignore me, I'm a nobody, I don't know what I'm talking about. Heck, 2012 could really be the end of all life as we know it, for real. And this sure as heck won't matter, mostly because all servers will crash and burn and bytes of data will no longer be coherently stored in networked devices.
I realize, yes, this is ludicrous to spend this amount of text on this silly a subject- in the grand scheme of things- Of course. No doubt-
However - WITHIN THIS SCHEME OF THINGS - It fits PERFECTLYYYY!!
Undo what you have done, make the game Elderscrolls again.
