Is Levelling Linear?

Is Levelling linear? For example, if enchanting 5 iron daggers at Enchant Level 1 allows one to get to Enchant Level 2, does going from Level 70 to 71 still only require enchanting 5 iron daggers? I'm pretty sure it isn't, but can anyone explain how levelling actually works?

Of course. That is how leveling progresses.

Leveling is not linear.

The higher you increase your skills, the more you have to use them to get to the next level. The higher you get your enchanting skill the more you will need to enchant ever more powerful enchants in order to get your skill to the next level. You can still keep using low level echants to raise your level, but it wil ltake CONSIDERABLY longer.
