I recently tried a Playable Draugr mod, but it has a lot of issues (which in all fairness to the mod creator, probably cannot be surmounted). So instead I tried something slightly different. I went looking for some Snow Elf mods, and found a pre-Dawnguard one that adds 4 new elf races, including the Snow Elves. They were kind of blue-skinned, so I Photoshopped their skin to be white. I changed the race name and their powers and the end result was http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v90/subrosa_florens/Skyrim/Skyrim504.jpg. I have her basic backstory already. She is from Dawnstar, and she her newly wedded bride Lif were honeymooning on the shores of the Sea of Ghosts in a tent they had put up. They were attacked, tortured, and eventually killed. In her last dying breath my Avenger swore vengeance, and returned from the dead to enact it. She remembers only fragments of her former life (and death). She does not even clearly recall what killed her (though I know). She just knows that she is dead, and is consumed with the need for vengeance. She will figure the rest out as she goes along. (Yes, I am ripping off the plot of the Crow. I just wish there was a crow companion mod out there...)
I am undecided on a name. I want something suitable for a undead, revenge-driven character, with a Norse or Anglo-Saxon flavor to keep with the Skyrim setting.
I am probably going to use Hela, the Marvel Comic-ized version of Hel, the Queen of the Dead. I like it better than the original just because it is more feminine.
But I am still hemming and hawing over a few others:
Hrafngrennir - "Raven Feeder" The Kenning term for an unburied corpse
Krakeit - "Crows" A slang term used for the Valkyrja, who were sometimes said to wear cloaks of crows feathers.
I gave some thought to Morrigan/Morrigu, etc... but I am saving that name for a time when we get usable spears (maybe). I am also steering clear of the Greek Erinyes and Nemesis, because I want to keep a Norse flavor.
