First of all, I would love to see footstep noise that is effected by these variebles:

Heavy armor~~~
  • 10/10 noise level while running
  • 7/10 noise level while walking
  • 5/10 noise level while sneaking
Medium armor~~~
  • 7/10 noise level while running
  • 4/10 noise level while walking
  • 2/10 noise level while sneaking
Light armor~~~
  • 5/10 noise level while running
  • 3/10 noise level while walking
  • 1/10 noise level while sneaking
One of the biggest reason I still play Counter Strike is because the way sound plays a huge role on the game. By paying attention I can have a good idea of where my enemy is running.
A great example for TESO would be: Im an assasin archer, I'm fast and silent thanks to my light armor. Im in a close qaurtered abandoned building and I need to take down a Heavy claymore weilder while he is questing. Its dark, and I cant go up against him face to face, he will rip me apart, I know that. So I rely on listening to his footsteps to understand his movement patern so I can silently lay down a trap, mobilize behind him, wait till he steps in my trap, and finish him off with an arrow to the back of that skull.

We also need traps. Trip wires, magic mines, bear traps, etc... Some will be vsible in the dark, others will be almost impossible to spot at night, but do less damage.
