A slight adjustment in the CK will allow you to give goodies to Alesan. Open your CK, go up to File, then Data. Check the Skyrim box, and then the Hearthfire box--set it as "active". Go to Actors--scroll down to BYOH Urchin Alesan--right click, and hit "edit" to open his box, but don't do anything there. THEN, go to the left, and pick Race. Alesan is a RedGuardChild--right click on that and hit edit. Over on the right, you'll see his weight is set for 200. Make it 300. Click OK on that. Click OK on Alesan's box. Click Save in the upper left, and give the plugin a name. I tried it with hard saves to make sure it works. (If done while you're in the house, you may need to exit and come back in for things to be active.) Hope this helps someone else give their kid some goodies. I felt kind of bad when I couldn't, and he said "Aw, quit teasing".

As a side note, I gave him the wooden sword first--he said thanks, but he might as well tossed it in the cooking pit. Then I gave him a Dragonbone Dagger...he was MUCH more enthusiastic in response.
