Awesome, patch out, source out, thanks idSoftware.

@Bear_Diablo, that looks amazing  I would think the higher resolutions wouldn't help the game look any better, with its textures being old and whatnot, but it looks really great.

The reason why 16x AA looks blurry is because the BFG version of Tech 4 maintains steady framerate all the time. When it can't, it scales down the overall resolution. In other words, your PC might not be powerful enough to handle all settings maxed out.

Not enough ? LOL ! My PC is 60 fps always in Doom 3 BFG Edition 1920x1080 all max anti 8x ! And My pc is enough for Battlefield 3 and Crysis 2 on 1920x1080 all max ! And Crysis 2 is DX 11 game !

And that means absolutely nothing.

Stencil shadows and Doom 3's lighting will quite happily kill any PC if you overdo it. They're just not efficient algorithms.

So is there anything with people able to back out of Doom/Doom 2/Doom 3 without needing to reset the console to play something else?

Lol nope, it really is how it is.
And yes your framerate stays at 60, but only because in reality your resolution lowers in-game to keep it so, no matter if you set the resolution to be really high.

@argochris, I think they fixed the in-game visible bugs that were complained about the most, things dealing with Doom3. Anything else might just be a bonus so to speak. I doubt they touched the netcode as they said p2p is the problem.

@Gstaff thanks very much man! And thanks to the id team and thanks to Harris for getting in touch with us.

I say BS because I play on 1920x1080 Texture LOD bias off and 8x antialising and my texture end resolution is very awesome ! But when I change 8x to 16x My resolution is bad...so thats the BS because My PC is good ! My BF 3 and Crysis 2 DX 11 is very smoth on 1920x1080 full settings ! But Doom 3 BFG not in 16x so...that BS !

BUT THIS UPDATE IS REALLY AWESOME ! AND REALLY BIG THX FOR ID TEAM AND BETHESDA TEAM ! THE GAME LOOKS 100X BETTER WHEN YOU TURN DOWN THE TEXTURE LOAD BIAS !

And now I play with FOV 90 so awesome and when You turn down the brightness you have the old Doom 3 cool dark atmosphere ! But I not turn down because I play 108 hour with the NEW Light Brightness Doom 3 BFG so it's ok for Me now.
