Under one Redguard's skin [100% RP]

Post » Tue Nov 27, 2012 2:10 pm

People, friends, I wish you a great day today.

If I am here with you today, it's mainly because I'd like to introduce you my work (in progress).

I am tired to see walkthroughs of Skyrim, watching the same quests, the same reactions of the perfect
powerful hero that always wins in the end...

I have developped something huge, something true and meant. Here is not a walkthrough, but one single story, as great as yours.

This is the story of a Redguard, forced to stay in Skyrim while his only wishes are to go back to Hammerfell and come back to his past life. But as long as the adventure goes, he remembers his past, what condemned him here, and he finds out the real nature of his fate in the land of the Nords...

Presented to you as a "living story", these videos will tell you the story of this man, complex and completely mysterious. Each episode is composed of a little prologue, introducing the main events of the chapter, followed by the gameplay itself (as I said, not focused on the main quest and other usual steps of basic walkthroughs).

The character is speaking, has direct conclusions over what he sees, and is simply alive.

Careful you should be: This piece of work is very serious, after each episode, my aim is to listen to you and improve on elements I have missed or done wrong. My improvization gets only better with experience, and if you let yourself go, you'll learn more about the character, his life, his personnality.

If you are interested into a new genre of roleplay, don't hesitate, here is an original sample for you.

Actually, that's the same way I RP. I give my characters their own Main Quests, with twist and turns. One of them started as a small time pickpocketer from morrowind and ended up freeing rifton from it's corruption and saved the world from a huge disaster.

Hello Mati. and thank you very much for your comment :)

I just read the destiny of your character, it's excellent ! Bringing your own "quests" to your character makes you enter the game with a fresh and new dimension.

I've got to say Roleplaying is the most brilliant and inspiring way to play such a game.

Did you roleplay with other characters ? If yes, did they have much lower victories ? I'm curious

Yes, of course. For all of them I've put a lot of depth. What I wrote about this character was just the beginning. The RP was a rollercoaster ride. The goals became larger and larger. There was everything in it. Drama, trategy, romance, hate, love.. everything. For example, the character developed a care for rifton over time. First, she didn't care at all, rifton was just a pit stop as it's the closest to morrowind border. Over time, she got to know the people there and developed a good side (while dealing with the inner devil, a curse which later became a plot point). But a hundred gameplay hours later (a LOT of things happened) the most memorable point in the game happened. A dragon attacked riften. Almost all civilians died and riften became nothing but a military stronghold. Tears came into my eyes.

The other character was the exact opposite; started as a highly positioned part of the court in Soltidute, doing anything for the empire. For the first 30 hours he cared about the city, I even developed a small system in my head for needs. Politican choices was a standard. Who does he support? Does he work for the people who live there? Does he care about money? Fame? The military? But later it turned around, and he even ended up killing the emperor himself, became a vampire lord. At the end, his soul became trapped in the soul cairn.

That's where the fun came in, my first character and the second one connected. The first one had to save the world by destroying the soul reaper in the cairn, who (in my head) was the developed form of my 2nd character.

My 3rd character is just a knight/priest of Akray with much smaller goals in life but still, very fun to play. He still searches to contact Arkay, basically that's the goal of his life. I'm sure I'll find a way to connect him with the other characters.

I also started a 4th RP character, but his story is about to get started..

You can call me a no-life or not, but I'm simply using my imagination to get MUCH more out of the game than the game itself offers, without mods. I'm a console player. It's not that I don't have a life. Skyrim's like a 2nd life, a distraction and a place where I can show off my imagination and create my own stories to myself. Maybe I've taken it way too far, but it's better than playing a warrior/thief/mage who eats and sleeps as a RP.
