Armor Comparison

Maybe I'm the only one whose noticed this, or MAYBE I'm insane....

But do these armors not look slightly similar?

Yes, there are obvious differences, but I feel like the 'essence' of the design is similar.

Maybe squint at both of them and see what you think.
If you can find a more head-on view of the dragonscale, that would be better.

Can't see the connection personally. However I did notice these two armours looking similar:

Nordic Ringmail

And the Headsman's garb

Just like all swords tend to look the same, at least ones people actually used, the only real differences being the details, armors are going to share characteristics. The important parts to protect are still there, the need to move and bend is still there etc.

Also, spikes on the head and shoulders can be helpful in close quarters combat, especially with a more lightly armored foe. Then, there is the intimidation factor of the armor, one has to look scary and mean, spikes do that and larger shoulder pauldrons do that. So, most armors are going to share some details, especially within the classes of light and heavy.

Ha!
Yes, I see what you guys mean.
I understand that armors will obviously share similar characteristics.

What I was Implying was that maybe Dragonscale armor was designed as a tribute/nod to the nordic mail from bloodmoon. (They're both special Nordic armors)

You can easily read into this too much, but they just seemed so similar to me.
