If you won half a billion dollars

Post » Thu Nov 29, 2012 8:21 pm

Played the powerball lottery and won $12 bucks---yay---so I'm thinking what would you do with half a billion dollars? That's a lot money almost to much money for one person I think but let's say I won it here's what I'd do.

1: Buy Mars----just kidding the first thing I'd do is get a finaciual advisor and a lawyer.

2: Put money in the bank and ruff IRA's.

3: Buy a house on a large track of land and have an outdoor gun range for both pistols and rifles.

4: Buy me a new car---maybe a hybred.

5: Donate some money to a couple of churches I know.

6: Live on the intrest for the remander of my life----(it will probably be a loney life cause I won't except any female advances at this point, don't want me when I'm poor, I don't want you when I'm rich).

Pay off the interest from my credit card. That's assuming half a billion would cover it...

Save and invest enough that I and my mom can live comfortably and worry-free for the rest of our lives.

Travel.

Donate the rest, probably by personally seeing to the purchase and distribution of food, medicines, etc. and not relying on a third party.

1. Put $10 million in 5 different banks ($50 million)

Even at a measly 0.5% interest rate, that comes out to be $50k a year per bank. Putting it in 5 different banks reduces the possibility of damages due to bank defaultment or other actions (since 10 million is more than the federal covered amount). If nothing happens that's $250k per year in interest at least.

Spend the rest in crazy ways, buying everyone in the anime thread an itasha. Forcing Lord Crow to get his license and drive his as my personal chauffeur

Step 1: Buy skull-shaped island.

Step 2: Build satellite death ray.

Step 3: Do innocuous things of no concern to anyone.

Step 4: Just have Bond shot instead of using elaborate deathtraps.

To be fair you didn't say you had.

And if push comes to shove, you can always go around her and tell your dad what she has in mind. It may be underhanded, but yes, getting a family pet is a family decision, and it will be better for everyone, including the dog, if the entire family is involved.

Go travel around the world and just enjoy.

Keep my richness a secret if possible, maybe a new identity.

Live a comfortable but not excessive lifestyle. Own the money and not the other way around.

Figure out how best to help the world with the remainder. Put money into research for alternativ energy sources, and better agriculture techniques and devices to cut down on that whole environmental footprint, or maybe become a patron for the science fiction and fantasy writers I like.

Or use my money to help finance campaignes of candidates who might actually give a [censored] about its people instead of whose funding their campaigne.

Somehow buy all the media corporations and have everyone fired and then shut them down. How you like reporting on your own job loss [censored]? Oh wait you can't report anymore......hehe...

Oh wait only a half a billion dollars........nvm

I'll just stick to travel and the agriculture stuff.

I would give 200 thousand to my church, give 1 million to charity, and live off the rest.

Yup, won $12, but the prospect of winning half a billion dollars was a futile dream.

After taxes and everything, depending on how much I won, I would fulfill my promise of donating 5 to 10% of it to charity. That's one vow i've made and kept it when I won $100 from a scratch off. Decided to purchase that weird bird thingy from the WoW pet shop since 100% of the purchase, supposedly, went towards the Tsunami relief when Japan got hit.

Would probably invest 3/4 of the money and use the rest to fix up the house. A person could live off the interest from that kind of money, but some just blow it as fast as they get it.

1) Pay off debt.

2) Spend outrageously.

3) Set up funds for my children, my children's children, my children's children's children, etc.

4) Spend outrageously.

5) [censored] charity.
