Enchantment suggestions for an assassin dagger

Post » Sat Dec 01, 2012 5:40 pm

My current character has been playing as a straight mage - no weapons (not even bound), and little to no armor (just gauntlets and boots, like the Vigilants). After progressing to level 40 I finally have high enough skills to have some decent spells to use such as invisibility, detect life, detect dead, paralyze, mayhem, and so forth, plus some decent perks such as quiet casting and aspect of terror. I have been aiming for the ultimate stealth/assassin mage.

Now that I have some decent perks and spells, I am thinking that it might be fun for a while, or at least when I go to wipe out the DB, to cruise through dungeons while invisible and assassinate targets left and right with a dagger. The question is: what enchantments would be good here?

For my melee characters I have always gone with fire and absorb health. But this character is not a melee kind of guy. So what might be good here? I was thinking paralyze might be good because it would allow me to escape if my backstab doesn't actually kill the enemy. The downside is that it is only a chance at paralysis, not a sure thing. For a sure thing on human/mer NPCs I could just use a potion. Also, since I want to avoid a melee, absorb health doesn't seem to make too much sense. I have both augmented flames (level 2) and augmented shock (level 1). So maybe a fire/shock combo? Not sure.

Any thoughts?

Absorb Health, I mean if you want to take out your enemy, the strike and the Health drain will probably kill them.

Maybe Shock and Soul Trap? Or if you want to go somewhat OP, you could use Shock and Firey Soul Trap. I keep saying Shock because there's only 2 things that have any kind of resistance against it: Bretons (only 15%) and Storm Atronarchs (100%).
