
I have some other topics about on other forums but I though was a good idea to have one here to,so here it is,I post below 2 images to show how it is comig
The sword + scabbard is 8.500 tris,but in other word 5.500 tris are the polycount of the sword+scabbard,the other 3000 tris are from the strip around the handle, I do it in this way (instead of optimizing everything or for example bake the strip into the handle) because I set to myself 10k tris as a poly budget,so I was totally free :S Also,this sword is intended to be unique in game so only one model so I've thought "not a big deal if I put 8.500 tris,it will not make a noticeable perfomance difference" (hope that it is true...) xD
low poly + normal +ao are done,only left the texturing work to do & also there will be a glow effect inside the cracks of the blade,like if a strong energy is helding the pieces togheter

But texturing is kind of my weak spot,so I will try my best & hope to do a decent job with it,wish me good luck
