Laptop - Skyrim

Post » Sun Dec 02, 2012 4:53 am

I have been considering buying Skyrim for my laptop because of the freedom it gives me. It's rather old though so I am almost certain that I won't be able to run it on ultra/high/medium settings. I am happy as long as I can run it even if it's on the lowest settings possible. The processor is: AMD Athlon, II Dual Core M320, 2.1 GHz and 4096 MB RAM.

I am not an expert when it comes to specs and such so I can't just ''check'' it myself.

Thanks.

I appreciate the quick response but did you read what I wrote?

'' I am not an expert when it comes to specs and such so I can't just check it for myself''.

Minimum Specs (For running Skyrim on "Low" settings at 1920x1080 resolution)
  • Windows 7/Vista/XP PC (32 or 64 bit)
  • Processor: Dual Core 2.0GHz or equivalent processor
  • 2GB System RAM
  • 6GB free HDD Space
  • Direct X 9 compliant video card with 512 MB of RAM
  • DirectX compatible sound card
  • Internet access for Steam activation
I don't understand any of this.

That's not the point. That thread is the dedicated thread for questions about whether or not a given hardware configuration will run the game.

If it wasn't there, this board would've been filled with these threads. I believe it was created in the first place to cut down on the number of threads pre-release, but I'm not certain.

The information you provided doesn't tell anyone nearly enough information to determine if that computer will run the game anyway. If you can't tell us what's inside your laptop, how are we going to be able to tell you if it will run the game?

Please go to the thread already mentioned and post a proper Dxdiag report (instructions on how to do this are given in http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1122570-how-to-dxdiag/) there.

Yes, please use the dedicated thread that has been linked. Posting PC specs and receiving advice about them is what that thread is all about. Thanks for the helpful links, deaths_soul and Gator Country.
