Tired of dragons that never land

So I'm playing a melee-based character and TRYING to roleplay him as a follower of Malacath who disdains any sort of ranged attacks (even Shouts) and he thinks it's a cowards way of attacking. But even with my mage and my archer, I find that dragons tend to take forever to freaking land. That is, unless I stand out in the open and suffer their breath attacks constantly. If I dodge into ruins or any sort of cover, it becomes this repetitive cycle of the dragon staying in the air and either strafing or landing on an area I can't access or can't get to quick enough before he takes off and just breathing on me all the time. And then if I go to the place that he consistently lands to breath on me... all of a sudden he doesn't come there anymore.

It's just so bloody frustrating to have this cat and mouse game go on for 10-15 minutes. I get to the point where I just run far enough away that I can fast travel out of there because I'm just sick of it.

Has this ever happened to you?

Dragons only land when there is a large enough space for them too. If your in the middle of like falkreath, or the Reach, and some parts of the Rift, dragons have a hard time landing becuase there isnt enough space.

But I have found that dragons land more often when I am not in cover. which I think it kinda the point.
