Okay, I come to my fellow forumers for assistance. I've read other topics, mainly the AMD Catalyst thread and am still not really getting anywhere in resolving the issue that has befallen my wife's machine.

Here is what happens:

- Load a game. Sometimes it loads. Sometimes it doesn't. When it doesn't, the load screen "smoke" stops and the screen goes completely white. I've tried various saves with no discernible difference- again, sometimes the game will load, sometimes not.

State of her machine:

• Radeon 6800 series graphics
  
• 12.8 driver
  
• 64 bit
  
• Fully patched; DG and HF
  
• No mods

When the game does load and play, graphics are not an issue. The game is gorgeous, no texture issues or shading issues, fps-lag or anything discernible of that sort. It's just that she encounters these stubborn, confoundingly random load screen hiccups.

Any thoughts as to what may be going on?
