Just be honest, ive died like 10 times or more on my first ancient dragon until I fought it with Delphine and Esbern

A had a rather unfortunate encounter. I believe I met an Ancient at around level 42ish, but he appears along with an Elder Dragon...not fun

I don't remember my first fight with an Ancient, but I clearly remember Elder Dragons. They showed me which way things were going to. As a result, I focused on elemental resistance enchantments.

When Ancients eventually showed up, I was definitely prepared, otherwise I would have quite vivid memories of my first encounter with them.

By the time Dawnguard came out and brought Revered/Legendary Dragons along, I was already at level 81 so, they weren't that much of a trouble, even on master difficulty. The game started seeming a bit dull and a fresh start was in order.

So, I made another character. This time, I would make a pure mage. At some point, I've had him try to make a name for himself as a warrior, without a single point in any armor/weapon skill and just 3 points in smithing (Steel, Arcane & Dwarven). On master difficulty, Revered Dragons would kill that fellow with ease. This, until I started crafting and using potions, other than your usual "Smithing Phial of Awesomeness"

I ended up having a lot more fun with this character, than with any other

I want to hear more stories of your first encounter with an Ancient Dragon.

5. I was on the 3rd hardest Difficulty.

I fought my first ancient dragon right outside of Solitude, shortly after reaching level 35. I had full ebony armor (legendary), and a legendary ebony sword with a fire enchant. I also had on a magic-resist ring and amulet. The only reason I remember it so clearly was that it was my only dragon fight that took me over maybe two minutes. Just because the dang thing refused to land, and I don't use archery. So I had to try to use ultra-weak fire magic to chip away enough of its health to force it to land. But the dang thing just kept flying around too high up for my spell to reach, and when it DID land, it was on the nearby farm buildings where I was afraid of setting fire to the buildings. I know they can't burn down or anything, but I still try not to set them ablaze... Anyways, it took me between 5 and 10 minutes I think, and I definitely had a follower, though I'm not sure whether it was Jenassa or Iona. Probably the latter. I had strong armor and plenty of healing spells and potions, so I didn't die at all; it was just a really long, slow, frustrating fight.

I was level 46 I think. Somewhere around there. Depending on what character it was, I either had Dragonscale or Daedric (typical OP gear). The first fight didn't take too long because of that fire breath but after the reload I was expecting it and managed to kill it.
