Hiya :)

I′m thinking of getting the first Bioshock game for PC and I′d like to know what you guys think of it. It looks good on youtube anyway.
No spoilers, just your general thoughts.

you can get bioshock 1 and 2 for 5 bucks for both during sales. Wait for the Christmas sale I'd say.

Only played the first one, pretty good.

i remember getting a random crash on win 7, it was a few years ago now sorry for my bad memory, i cant remember exactly why but there must be a work around by now, Bioshock 2 ran flawlessly though,

as i had already played 1 on XP, i just played Bioshock 2 on Win 7.

To get Fallout 3 to work on Win7 you have to tweak an ini, is that the case with Bioshock too?

no not really, ive just ran a quick google search, there were quite a few problems with win 7, sound and ctd's 64bit problems etc, i would take a quick look before you buy if i was you, if you use win 7 that is.

I have both Bioshock 1 and 2. Both are excellent games. I ran both of them and Fallout 3 on Win 7 with no issues.

I found the game to be very good and the art and music to be fantastic. I'd always hoped it would be more like the System Shock series that the gameplay was inspired by. It's a great game in its own right, though.

I never had to do anything special to run it on Windows 7, but I didn't have to do anything special to get Fallout 3 to run in Windows 7 either.

One thing with both Bioshock games that irritated me a bit is the physics. It sounds a bit weird, but it's like the ragdoll/object physics are capped to some specific framerate, 30 or even lower. If your PC runs the game at around 30 FPS everything looks fine. That was the case on my old PC. If your game runs at 60 though, the physics will look very jerky, as if you're having performance problems, but the game itself runs fine. It's just the 'framerate' of the physics that is significantly lower than everything else. Has anyone else experienced this?

It's a great game though.
