Skyrim: Dragonborn Bugs? [Spoilers Kind Of]

Post » Thu Dec 06, 2012 1:50 pm

Okay guys I downloaded Dragonborn and did a lot of the things there is to do on this DLC including the 4 out of the 7 Black Books. I've noticed that after the one where you go through the shadows that make you lose health (the one with the abilities that give either Combat 10% bonus, Magic 10% less to cast, and Sneaking 10% more effective) Well after this I've noticed that no matter where I go I hear this constant hissing as if I'm still in those shadows and whenever I go on my map there is a weird square around my player marker. I've also been noticing a lot of freezing when traveling to and from Apocraphyr. Anyone else getting these bugs? If so please help. :)

Had the same problem. Drove me crazy because I was wearing a headset. I've never been able to fix the freezing. (in fact I think my whole save file is busted because I have a crash about 3/4/5 times a day.)
Anyway, reload an autosave. That fixed it for me.

Freezing = turn off auto-saves.

Darkness... um Candlight (while in Skyrim or Solstheim) worked as a permanent dispel for me. Otherwise maybe try reading the book again and then reding it again to leave while NOT in shadows?

Gonna try that fix. I'll have to remember to save more often though.

Anyway, I tried candlelight. I thought it was leftover sound because I cheated in Apocrypha and used candlelight to speed right through the whole thing (since the darkness doesn't hurt if candlelight is pushing it away), but it's possible that it might just be leftover sound from when I first stepped into the darkness and got hurt. I don't think it went away after that. Either way, reloading an autosave fixed mine. A normal save should work too, if it's new enough.

Hay I hit a big bug. Sort of. I just got the dlc. I have searched the island for over an our. I heard that I am suppose to be confronted by cultists. But that has not happend. I am level 81 legit.........so are there any other way to start the quest.....really I hate things that I have to wait in order to get started. I really hate this dlc for not starting the main quest imidiatly when I step on the island.

thanks for all the replies guys i hope bethesda gets word of this and finds ways to fix these bugs but yea that square thing is annoying im really compulsive too which svcks :\.

@adashio if you go to windhelm on the side of the bridge on the river you should see docks and one of them should have a boat that you can go on and there should be a captain on it. when you speak to him he'll say something like he doesn't want to go back to solstheim or something along those lines. It should start the questline for you.

Unfortunately it didn't work :\ but it was worth a shot. Oh well I'm sure they have a lot of things to patch and hopefully they'll come out with an update soon.

Not in Skyrim. After you touch a stone, go to sleep. Or just look for him. Not that hard to find, actually.
