Showing Gear

I call this "weapon stacking" but I don't know if that describes it right or is what it is actually called. It seems to me to be such a baseline feature that I am really shocked Bethesda hasn't added it in (in its fullness) yet. With the latest DLC, Bethesda has continued its awesome trend of delivering more of what players want in Skyrim in a big way. DB is pretty awesome (sorry PS3 and PC players, not trying to rub it in, just stating facts) and it got me thinking about what I would absolutely want them to include in Skyrim for it to be the coup de grace. What I want more than anything else in the world is the ability to see my weapons stacked upon my body, including my shield if I'm going sword and board (or whatever wep you happen to be using).

I'm envisioning this. We have an extra portion in our weapon sub-tab that is for a primary weapon set and a secondary weapon set. We can choose any setup we could normally have and assign them to the two sets. When playing the game then, both of those sets of weapons will visually show up on our character. If the sets chosen are a sword and shield with a bow, when the player's weapon is sheathed, his shield will be resting on his back over top of his bow & quiver and his sword will be on his hip as normal. If you are a duel wielder and you want to use two sets of dual swords, maybe the first pair is on your hip and the second are crossed on your back. Maybe this feature doesn't allow you to stack weapons of the same type/area. Functionally, when in combat, you can hold down X and your character will swap to his secondary weapon set, allowing the player to utilize two different weapons without having to menu hop as much.

What do you guys think? I know this idea has been floated around in many forms on the forums, but with all the neat stuff in dlc lately, I really want to make a push for this on the forums. It is a small feature I know, but think of how much more immersive the game would be, plus I think it just looks cool. We have the ability to see our weapon on our character, so the feature kind of exists already, it just needs to get the full attention it deserves. Hopefully this could be a freebie update, but if the animations and other things would be too much, I have no qualms about paying for this as part of a new dlc. Just please Beth, consider adding this feature into your games. It would please a lot of people methinks!

Skyrim has this feature to show one of each type of weapons favorited but it's disabled by default, you can enable it in Skyrim.ini puting bDisableGearedUp = 0 under [General] if you have the PC version, they probably disabled it because it still has some anoyng bugs that they probably haven't had time to fix because of the release deadline :/ (but i still use it anyway, it's so amazing *-*)
(you have to sheath your weapon before drawning another ot the first weapon will get stuck in your hand untill you equip it and sheath correctly again or favorite and unfavorite it, and when transforming in a vamp lord or werewolf you have to first unfavorite all your weapons or they will show in the transformation anyway)

edit: also that's why if you dual wield you sheath both weapons in the left side, because dagger type weapons display just a bit below the swords

Sounds like effort!
