I've started playing MtG, and my friend has a card which creates a token on the battlefield, and other cards which have Althea ability to populate the token.
Does the copied token stay in play even if I destroy the original token?
I'm asking because this effect seems overpowered IMO. He ended up with 2 4/4 copied tokens, as well as the original 4/4 token.
Once in play, the copy would be a creature no different from the original. It doesn't remember it's status as a 'copy' and has to be dealt with like any other creature.

Which was the basis for my "Thrull" deck in the late 90s.
4 "Breeding Pit" 4 "Thrull Champion" Random other Thrulls "Lord Of The Pit" And the requisite lands.
People don't like the swarm. It was the M:TG equivalent of a zerg rush.
