To be, or not to be....a VAMPIRE!

Post » Sat Dec 08, 2012 5:00 pm

That is the question.

My current character is somewhat malevolent Nord sorcerer. He craves power and seeks to rule all others. Obviously, dragons are a threat to his rule, as is some puny Elven "Dominion". He has been researching vampirism and the possibilities of the powers (and weaknesses) it brings.

So, would a vampire be a good fit for him? I read the vampire article on UESP, but wanted to hear some player opinions. I do not have Dawnguard, yet, but would obviously get it if I decide to go that route. What are some of the magic synergies that go along with the Necromage perk?

As you've seen in one of my other threads, I think vampire would at least be a good look. Here it is, for reference. http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p117/arkanSTFU/koveras2.png I am slowly upgrading him to ebony armor...maybe daedric?

Edit, I should add that this character only uses spells (and heavy armor). No weapons.

It gets annoying to be in the sun and to have to feed what seems like every day. If you dont have dawngaurd, there is little point in becoming one. I was one for a while, but I just got fed up with feeding and sunlight I cured myself and never looked back.

as vamp lord starving lvl 4 you turn imune to cold damage but 50% fire damage so you need alteration 30% magic resist, enchanting to fire resist and life regen, light armor to stamina regen and restoration to magic regen during sunlight and gauldur amulet to lose less stats during sunlight

Well, since your character wishes to search for and eliminate all threats to his power, it would make a bit more sense to side with the Dawnguard if you were to download the content. Vampires pose a much more serious risk to his growing rule than the mostly police-like Dawnguard.

By all means, side with whoever you would like. However, I am not sure vampirism is the correct road to travel for you.

Without mods, there is little reason to be a vampire, even with Dawnguard.

If you're on PC, check out the Belua Sanguinare mod, one of the best vamp mods IMO.

Nope, not interested in becoming a vampire, nor a werewolf. As I've said just now on my Aela thread, I'm more interested in eventually becoming a, er, "dragonborn"! Or a D&D version of a dragonborn to be precise. I mean, if the glove fits wear it!
