Luckily, my other character, a level 81 Dunmer by the name of Master Drelayn, was more then capable of enabling me to explore this DLC. As Arch-Mage, I already possessed more then enough spells to see me through. I’d yet to advance the main quest past finding the horn of Jurgen Windcaller – which proved to be most helpful!
No sooner had I entered Morthal, I was ambushed by two cultists and the usual vampire threat. Swiftly dealing with the ensuing chaos, I travelled to Windhelm and boarded a ship to Solsthiem…
Now that is out the way, let’s get down to the game itself. I'll probably add to this list soon...
I enjoyed:
- The amount of side and misc quests! Very happy with how many extras there are.
- The amount of gold to be made – already up 100,000! Now what to do with it…
- My first visit to the Thirsk Mead Hall. Nice to be head of a tribe

- The new house in Raven Rock. Now, if only I could find a way to move it to Skyrim…
- The Beast Stone. Very nice but a bit of a troll.
- Working with Neloth. His quests were a nice change of pace and offered some nice rewards.
- Neloth’s home – Tel something or other. Most impressive! *Note to self, find a way to steal house…*
- The recognition given by the locals when finishing quests, as opposed to Skyrim's lack of.
I disliked:
- The new HM during his Skyrim Quest. He doesn't fit in the corridor properly, nor does he disappear completely after delivering his dialogue.
- The length of the Main Quest – by the time I’d gotten to Miraak, I was like, what!? That was the final battle?!

- The lack of locations visited during the Main Quest. Again, upon completing it, I had only been to a very small selection of places. Admittedly, I’d already found many of the new locations on my own, but not through doing the Main Quest.
- The amount of ‘unfinished terrain’. By which I mean, gaps in walls, the floor and roofs that you can fall through. Not game-breaking as such, but most annoying.
- The lack of options with the Skaal.
- The options given by the Black Book. At higher levels they are pointless and unnecessary. Maybe at lower levels they would work, but by the time you get them, it's too late.
- The seemingly missing lore on Miraak. Ok, so I know the story behind him to an extent, but the rest is all hit and miss. Seeming how he is the whole point of the DLC, I expected more.
- Miraak's dialogue. I'm with everyone else who has already said it - why doesn't he say more!
- Dragon Aspect shout - completely pointless.
