I understand that in order to set this quest off the blacksmith of the skaal has to dissapear, he has yet to. This is one the few quests I have left to do in DB having done the main story and dungeon crawled all the dungeons on the island, I'd like to start but after leaving Solstheim and waiting in skyrim, waiting a few days in raven rock, fast travelling back and forth over and over, he still hasnt vanished so the quest can't start and I can't eventually be able to craft Stalhrim, Help? Hints?

If you progress to far on the DLC mainquest it seems like "A new source of Stalhrim" will never occuor.

So i guess you will have to either load a save at the start of the dlc or reinstall it (removing everything from the dlc and starting over again).


Edit: Offcourse this is just a guess based on the situation since the same thing happened for me. But you might wanna wait for some more info to be sure.

I pvssyd with the barkeep in the corner club, asked him for rumors, and he told me about the missing blacksmith. I already had the quest so I don't know if it's related or not but would be worth a try.

I've asked him a few times in the corner club, nothing... And My friend has also beaten the quest and he managed to start the quest....

Ive completed the MQ and have gotten the quest after.
Time, is the answer

I've always just overheard Deor's conversation about him missing when going to talk to the shaman in the main quest. Try starting a converstion with Deor Woodcutter and see if he has anything to say about it.
