My friend says he is turning into a vamp and even has to drain people's blood and experiencing some of the vampire abilities. when he seeks help from the mage in Morthal and delivers the filled black soul gem, everyone attacks him before he can get there because he is fully turned. He is playing on Xbox and only has the regular game.

I have seeked help from the mage for this very problem but i was never as far into the disease as he is so i was always able to get cured in time. I think my friend is gonna try to reload from a previous save and have the soul gem ready for the mage the first time, but is there any advice for this problem if that doesnt work?

Your friend needs to feed on blood before he goes to see Falion. Vampirism has four stages and feeding will put you at Stage One. Waiting 72 hours will put you at Stage 4, which is where people attack you.
