Race and Awkwardness in Skyrim

Post » Wed Dec 12, 2012 6:36 am

Have you ever made it to the end the main quest and just felt awkward or out of place being any race but a Nord?
Being an elf, orc, or one of the beast races just makes it awkward.
But playing as a Breton or Imperial doesn't bug me as they along with the nords are all descended from the Atmorans who cam to Skyrim.

Though I never played Morrowind, from what I read about Nevarar and the Nevarine wouldn't it be awkward to not be a Dark Elf?
"The Nevarine has returned! But he is a Argonian for some reason....?"

Looking back at Oblivion the main quest made it feel like any race could be the Hero of the Oblivion Crisis as you were just a nobody in a jail cell.

What do you guy's think? Agree/Disagree? Share your thoughts.

I feel more comfortable as the Dragonborn if I am a Nord, Breton or Imperial, but I don't feel uncomfortable as any other race if that makes sense to you. I also like the ironic little twist of being either an Altmer or Dunmer Dragonborn.

Being a Bosmer or Khajiit Dragonborn does feel less 'right' for me, but not enough to prevent me from playing the main quest with those characters.

Same for me, it is just a bit weird.
