I need something to pull me back in

Post » Tue Dec 11, 2012 5:53 pm

I am having some fun finishing up Dawnguard but I am not getting that feeling I used to where I just couldn't way to play Skyrim. I guess ~11 months of playing a game will do that to you.

I do roleplaying but have considered taking it to another level and trying Dead is Dead. Any suggestions on other ways to re spark my interest in this game OR how to make Dead is Dead even more fun/exciting? In my opinion, Skyrim is the best game I have ever played. I don't want to stop playing, and there aren't really any other games that interest me.

Someone help me rekindle my love of Skyrim!!

Try finding a specific Build template online, an play a character type you never have before.

I've found myself using some of the builds suggested here: http://theskyrimblog.ning.com/group/character-building

When I was getting bored, or couldn't justify being part of a certain faction with the character I was playing.

That's probably part of my problem. I am usually a sword and board or ranger type character.

I will say I have no interest in using magic. I will take a look at the link you provided.

If you're usually Sword and Board - try 2 handed instead. You can still Block, and use half of the Blocking Tree Perks.

Or try Dual weilding. No blocking at all.

If you don't want magic for combat, try enchanting or poisoning weapons (using Alchemy). The Skill trees for both have some interesting perks. It also gives you a reason to use the Mages' College without being a true wizard.

Plenty options out there. Hope that helps.

It certainly does not have the depth of "Oblivion".

Some people complained that the "compass" in "Oblivion" was leading them by the hand.

This could be turned off.

If they realised this perhaps the quests in "Skyrim" would not feel so over-written that it's almost character stifling.

A new character with a new backstory could be just what you need to spice up your "Skyrim" life.

You could try playing as a character type you're not particularly fond of.

I never played as a thief or villain, but gave it a go for an extra character in "Oblivion" and had some real and unexpected fun.
