I was messing around in Solitude going on a guard killing spree.

After wiping out all guards in the vicinity I run upstairs towards Beirand's forge. I was low on health to the point where the screen fades a little red and you hear your heart beat when.....

I sprint and hit the Blacksmith sign hanging above the door to his shop with my head.


I died.

Haha wow that made my day.I can imagine a cartoony CLANG! when you hit the sign!

Honestly, if I was playing a dead is dead....and died in this manner. hahaha oh wow.

I didn't even know that shop signs do damage. Are you sure you weren't hit by a stray arrow?

There were no living guards around. Last thing I saw was me sprinting towards the sign and hitting it causing the sign to swerve back and forth violently then me collapsing to the ground.

Wow. That is definitely news to me.

I wonder if I could kill Nazeem in a similar way...hmmm....

In your weaker moments you can also be killed by running into a cart, tripping over clutter... I would also not advise kicking around any bones you find on the floor just for gits and shiggles as they have been known to ricochet back at the player and inflict fatal wounds as a result.
