The Hobbit (movie) Thread

Post » Fri Dec 14, 2012 4:37 pm

I couldn't find a thread for this.. :o So I'm starting one!
I saw the movie last night, and it was awesome. It's not perfect, but it's clearly a 8/10, with some 10/10 moments in it.

SPOILERS BELOW, if you havn't seen the movie, stay away from these threads.. :P

I really liked the theme music playing in the battles, and I also thought the Nazgul at Dol Goldur was cool!

Please share your thoughts on the movie!!!

I will never pay to see it, neither monetary nor time wise. I hated what they did to the trilogy and I am not going to bare witness to another atrocity.

Can't wait. Read the book back in fourth grade and loved it. Not expecting it to be Lord of the RIngs or even entirley accurate to the book but I'm sure it'll be good.

Leaving in about 20 minutes or so to go and make sure we get a good seat for the first showing.

Watched it tonight in imax. It's very well done as I hoped, great use of 3D, awesome music, the action takes off a bit slowly but I expected this after LOTR. The underworld city is fantastic. I haven't read the book so I don't know how accurate this representation is but I can tell it's a great journey.

From what I've hear it takes some things from other books.

Well, this one is more faithful to the book in one way, because it "feels" more like the book. There is, of course, much additional content added.

You can't book your seats before you get to the cinema? :P
