Skyrim dumbed down

Post » Fri Dec 14, 2012 10:51 am

Note: I censored out the words "dumbed down" because apparently it offends people so much they can't even see the point I try to make so for more sensitive readers I will put "Made to appeal to the lowest common denomentator" there

I just saw a video that made some great points on how TES have gotten more *censored* over time I feel it deserves more of a view count because the person who made the video made a good argument.

It's a long video but if your a fan of TES I think you should see it. Also if you haven't seen MrBtounge's video about TES you should see it, it makes good points and it's shorter than the the other video

It's less about *censored* and more about how the literature aspect of TES has gone down over tim. Also just to be clear if it wasn't painfully obvious these aren't my videos, the guys who made them just made great points and I feel they should be shared

I did too. People have been accusing Bethesda of "dumbing down" these games since Morrowind came out in May, 2002.

That's two words... so he may have a point. :P

Hehe - on all seriousness though, what those hardcoe fans would call "dumbed down"... for us new fans to the ES series (such as myself) we call it "more accessible".

I found it fascinating as I had a hardcoe friend who she really wanted me to play the ES games. So, Skyrim came out and I played and LOVED it - but the weird thing is she didn't, sighting lots of little gameplay things which, to me as a new player, sounded rather minor.

Tell me about it. It is a cycle, that sadly, will never end.

That's because that word IS overused. I'm trying not to be disrespectful, but that's the truth.

I know what you mean, it is annoying when someone accuses a company of dumbing down a beloved game but I'm mostly using the phrase to gather attention to the point. I just find it annoying people won't bother reading the point I'm trying to make before they crticize my post
