This mod is an effort to fix the vast amount of bugs currently existing in Skyrim. If you're experiencing a bug with Skyrim, please report the bug to us in as much detail as possible on http://bugzilla.darkcreations.org/describecomponents.cgi?product=Unofficial%20Skyrim%20Patch%20%28USKP%29. Use the "Dawnguard DLC" version tag to mark Dawnguard issues with. Please use search to ensure that you aren't submitting something that is already there. There are conglomerate entries for object placement (if it doesn't affect gameplay), text errors, and inappropriate dialog (again, that doesn't affect quests or other gameplay) so please use those entries if that's what you're reporting. Please also confirm that the bug you are reporting happens with no mods other than the unofficial patches installed. A lot of Skyrim bugs are actually the result of other mods doing things they're not supposed to. Thank you and we hope you have a better Skyrim experience!
(Note that all fixes are retroactive unless otherwise noted)

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: "How come {my unfavorite bug} isn't fixed yet?"
A: It's just getting started. This is now when the subtle and devious quest bugs are coming out of the woodwork, so expect many of those to get fixed soon. The Unofficial Oblivion Patch including the Shivering Isles and DLCs took over three years to get to a near-complete state. I expect this will take about two.
Q: "Will the UDGP be an ESM file?"
A: No. At this time, there is no reason for the UDGP to be issued as an ESM fle. If this changes in the future, we will let you know.
Q: "Do I need to do a clean save when upgrading?"
A: No. In fact, doing a clean save can often do more harm than good with Skyrim. NEVER follow advice given by someone to do this with the UDGP! Always upgrade the UDGP in place, without uninstalling it.
Q: "What if Bethesda Softworks fixes something the UDGP already does?"
A: Then, if it's fixed completely, the change will be removed from the UDGP.
Q: "How can I get the UDGP?"
A: When it's released, it will be posted (at least) on Steam Workshop, Skyrim Nexus, TES Alliance, and Dark Creations. Perhaps on other places as well. While in Beta, it's just at Dark Creations.
Q: "Will any text fixes appear in English in my non-English Skyrim?"
A: Unfortunately, yes. Editing the Strings resource files can be done to cause text fixes to only show on the English version of Skyrim, but as these are original resource files, Steam will end up replacing them with the original unmodified ones without asking. The only way I know of to keep the changes is hard-code them in the ESP. Please advise if there's another Strings-based method as I would definitely use it, or if there are translations of the UDGP available anywhere.
Q: "Are the scripting source .PSC files included?"
A: Yes, they're packed in Unofficial Dawnguard Patch.bsa along with all the other UDGP resources. You can use Archive.exe in your main Skyrim folder to browse and extract files from it.
Q: "Why do you include the useless file 'Unofficial Dawnguard Patch.bsl' with the BSA version of the UDGP?"
A: It actually has a use: without it, if you open Unofficial Dawnguard Patch.bsa with the official Bethesda BSA utility Archive.exe (in your Skyrim main folder) the filenames will all turn into gibberish. Third-party BSA utilities still display the proper filenames, but as I want to support the official toolset, I'll include the file so Archive.exe will be able to unpack the Unofficial Dawnguard Patch.bsa properly.

Game Mechanics Fixes
- The Drain Vitality shout that dragons use should no longer interfere with the shout the player learns. If you have been affected by the bugged shouts, they will be removed, and the words of Drain Vitality you unlocked previously will be retaught when the update script runs. (Bugzilla #6712)
- Dawnguard overrides the Patch 1.8 updates for the new dragon saddle bone. The UDGP restores the updated data so that it will function properly.
- Non-archery weapons would become stuck on the right side during mounted combat due to an oversight in the idle animation setup for RightAttackRelease.
- "Rescue" (DLC1RH06) may get fouled up beyond repair if the player encounters their kidnapped friend or spouse before being made aware of the quest. (Bugzilla #7127)
- Discerning the Transmundane (DA04) stage 10 journal entry tells the player they are retreiving the Elder Scroll for Paarthurnax, even though it is possible to pursue this quest in Dawnguard without ever having met Paarthurnax. The journal will no longer mention his name. (Bugzilla #6599)
- DLC1EncVampire00BretonF was overlooked when setting the vampire eyes and fixing grey face bugs.
- DLC1WE02Script.psc could end up continuing to update even after the event quest it was tied to had been stopped, leading to a flood in the Papyrus logs and impeding the performance of other scripts. This may also be partly responsible for blocking Gelebor from activating the first wayshrine - this has not yet been confirmed though.
- Lowered a cliff rock in cell 44,-15 (0200D1F7) to fix a visible gap behind it. (Bugzilla #5887)
