really! he is the one who really won at the end of the main story in dragonborn. he got the secret of the skall n get rid of his renegade dragonborn. all this because of my dragonborn who do everything. really skyrim is supposed to be about choice but we got no choice here to work with him. little bit bitter of the end of that story. hope in a futur dlc they will have a quest that really give us the choice to work with him or screw him.

Would there be a point in the story if you could choose to completely win out? The plot was well done.. and you still won out along with Mora

Do you really believe you could screw over the Daedric Prince of fate and secrets? The very moment you met him again, he had won.
Be glad you are not Miraak.

It's boring to be all powerful.
The point of playing is to get presented a believeable world. I am not on the "it's crap until I can kill every god" train.
Also, Daedric Prince > Dragon.
There are instances when it's logical to screw over a Daedric Prince, like when the Nerevarine destroyed an aspect of Hircine on Nirn or when Nu-Sheo (CoC) stopped the Grey March.
Dragonborn didn't present such an opportunity. The story was very well crafted to show the PC that he is not all powerful.
HM got the Lovecraftian vibe. For me, it would have killed immersion completely if a little mortal with the soul of an aedric lizard-angel would have been able to screw Mora.

You were manipulated by the Daedric Prince of fate and secrets. It's fitting.

Hermaeus Mora is the Prince of Fate, and this round, probably alone of all of them, he won with a few conversations and two stabby tentacles. Since Lorkhan basically dikeed him in the bum by creating Mundus, you gotta give him one. And what a win it was.

EDIT: And as for killing him, well that's impossible. He's literally a force of nature powered by the belief in his existence. As long as there are secrets, and as long as people believe in fate, he will live. Killing his body, if even that were possible, will send him to the Waters of Oblivion to be ressurected on account of he's a Daedra, and is therefore truly immortal.

No, it's a cool ending even for those who don't care for Hermaeus Mora.. because sometimes it's nice to feel a little venerable.

How did Lorkhan screw over Mora through creating Mundus?

Actually, I got dialogue that placed me as Hermy's loyal servant, and I was rather pleased with that.
As a Battlemage obsessed with gaining power, how could I resist...?

Besides...Alduin is one thing...A Daedric Prince, an entity that can never truly die, on a level even Alduin could not attain, is quite another...

To add to this:
Even in these cases, the Daedric Princes basically won.
Hircine got his hunt, no matter how it turns out, it was fun. That's all he cares.
And in Shivering Isles, you are Jyggalags tool from the beginning to stop the cycle and free him by mantling Sheogorath and taking his place in Oblivion, thus setting Jyggalag finally free.

It's not new that the Daedra win.

And it was Martin/Akatosh who was the true hero here, not the CoC.
Well, at least we got the feeling to be the side kick.
