How should I play a ranger?

Post » Mon Dec 17, 2012 12:38 am

I want to play a stealthy ranger who uses EXCLUSIVELY the bow. Not a spell or blade in sight, just the bow. I wish I had Dawnguard because apparently I can fletch arrows and the like. But I'll get that in about two weeks, after Christmas.

So... How should I do this? I'm a good guy, who does the Thieves Guild. (I don't see the Thieves Guild as EVIL, just a rotten bunch)

Do it how you see fit and if you are on PC you can get a mod that lets you fletch and it may be hard using exclusively a bow when things get up close so maybe you could use your fists.

since you are avoiding magic and blades i would suggest taking up alchemy, its a very "rangerish" skill that can be used quite effectively on it's own if you can learn a few good poisons early on. heres a few recipe's that have easy to acquire ingridient's but very useful effects. ill go ahead and drop em in spoilers in case you would rather find the recipes out for yourself

Spoiler
Slow = Deathbell + Salt Pile

Spoiler
Paralyze = Canis Root + Imp Stool

Spoiler
Restore Stamina = Bear Claw + Charred Skeever Hide

these 3 potions alone can mean the difference between a life or death

Happy Hunting!
