I started a new game after installing 1.8 and Dragonborn, and unlike all my other playthrus I've found three ebony weapons and I'm only lev 24. My first was at 21. It's not like they're on high level daugr either, I found two in bandits chests and one in a stronghold's chest. I've barely even found any glass stuff yet and already three ebony.

Should this be happening? I've been trying to think what level they started to appear before but I'm not sure. Have they changed this for 1.8? If so why? It kinda spoils the game for me in a way.

Aren't having decent weapons good early on? I always go kill King Olafs for his Weapon.

This isn't all that unusual. Ebony items do appear randomly in high yield locations (e.g. boss chests) at those levels.

Sometimes it's not random at all. By completing the Potema quest line for Falk Firebeard, for example, you will get you an ebony war axe from the Draugr deathloard that sits outside of Potema's tomb.

Nothing's changed; consider yourself lucky for finding more Ebony items than the average gent!
