Second guessing and how to know if a bad decisions was made

Post » Wed Dec 19, 2012 4:34 pm

Recently some lfie events led to certain situations happening which are very personal, but suffice to say I feel I made some bad decisions a couple of which can be reversed even if not easily. I did lists of pros and cons to the various sides of things and they all came out rather close to equal and so I feel I made choices based on emotions which were not stable enough at the time and should never have been used. Mental state was also questionable which contibuted as well.

What is the best way to stop second guessing or know if what I choice was wrong and try and undo it? I know life happens and you cannot dwell on the past and need to just move forward with what happens, but in these instances moving forward may also be switching some choices around and placing myself back in a stressful situation which still did have some upsides.

I usually just don't think about it much.

I have been trying to keep my mind occupied but at the current time it tends to wander which causes issues then I can no longer focus on things enough to become more settled down.

It doesn't matter whether your choices were good or bad; it's the past and thus cannot be changed. Focus on the present and future instead where your choices still matter. Dwelling on the past is lonely business.
