This is a small Mod based on the Grey Cowl from Oblivion. It gives the Player a special item which, when equipped, gives the Player a seperate Identity who can then be used to commit Crimes and illicit activities without the main Player Identity being held responsible. In that regard, it CAN function as a "Cheat Mod" (The Player can simply avoid paying Fines/Going to Jail using this Identity) but the spirit of the Mod is roleplaying a character with dual-identities .
Each Identity has their own Bounty in each of the Holds.
Crimes committed by one Identity do not carry over to the other one, allowing the Player to have a "Respectable" and "Criminal" Identity.
Progress :-
Right now, the Mod is "complete" in that it does what I want it to do, and it seems to be working without any major glitches or issues. That said, there are two features I want to try and add :-
- Detection -- Right now, it doesn't matter when the Player removes their mask, as they will still receive the benefits, even if the Guards see; I'd like to change this.
- Mark your own Mask -- At the moment only the pre-decided Mask will work, giving the Mod a "Criminal" feel; but I would like to be able to let the Player decide their own Mask, and use that if possible. This is actually possible easily right now Via the CK -- The associated control Quest is set up to allow the Player to easily switch-out which Item has the "Disguise" designation, but integrating it into the Game-proper would be preferred.
Known Issues :-
- The effect takes about 5-10 seconds to activate when the Mask is equipped. This MIGHT be something with my system, or the Mod itself, but at this time that is not known for certain. All it means is that the Player needs to wait for the "Disguise" message to show before doing their deeds.
- "Gold Removed" Message. When the Player swaps identities, a "Gold Removed" message is displayed; this is perfectly "normal", due to how the Identities are swapped, and no Gold is lost; but it is still a little bothersome.
Edit:
As some of you may know, I've been out of the Modding Game for quite a while now, and have only really come back since I jsut re-installed Skyrim recently; so with that in mind, if any other Mods like this exist please feel free to let me know. There is no intention to "steal/copy" anyone else's idea, apart from the original Oblivion Designers and the Grey Cowl effect.
