So this is a potentially bad issue;

I have a quest with 4 aliases, all actors, all specific reference type aliases. The fail to fill (I get NONE in SQV) unless I make them optional. I literally don't change a single thing, except I mark them all as optional, and bam, they all fill sucessfully. Does anyone know what would cause this? I don't want them to be optional in the event that one randomly fails and the entire quest breaks, but I don't understand why they won't fill if they are optional, even though literally nothing else changes.

Any ideas? Do you guys think it's safe to simply leave them all optional since they appear to all fill every time regardless?

Are they reserved by another quest? If so, using the "allow reserved" flag should help with this.

If not, it's something else, but alias conflicts are a pain to diagnose. Setting them optional should be OK as long as it's consistently filling them.

They're specific references, meaning the 'Allow Reserved' box is greyed out, because I believe they are automatically marked as so.
