Anyone ever roleplay a halfbreed?

Post » Fri Dec 21, 2012 3:49 am

You obviously cannot be a half breed as it relates to the mechanics of the game, but sometimes I imagine my character to be of a certain race, with a mix of another for RP purposes. For example, my "arcane archer" is actually a Bosmer female, but I RP that she is half Dunmer so she fits in better on Solstheim. Of course, none of that is reflected in the game, only in my own head.

Anyone else?

It seems like a good idea, however, I wouldn't do it mainly because the lack of being able to implement it and keep making excuses as to why you look as you do would require way too much give and way too little take. Good for you and your ability to keep up with that RP.

I do this every now and then. I have a half Imperial/Breton assassin and a half Redguard/Nord warrior.

My Pure Mage is RPd as having had a Nord father and an Altmer mother. Just gave him more humanoid facial features and hair/facial hair, and increased weight.

My current character is a Nord coming from a Nord father and a Breton (Reachwoman).

His parents were killed when Ulfric retook Markarth...

my main character is half Altmer (mother) half Nord (father), her father was an Imperial Soldier veteran of the Battle of the red ring, he took a Thalmor scout he had captured during a mission as a spoil of war but in the end they married and generate my character

keep making excuses as to why you look as you do

You shouldn't have to explain and it is completely possible within the games limits/mechanics to play a half-breed; why? Because when two races of men, two mer races or mer and men interbreed, the race of the child is that of the mother. So a high-elf can bang orc woman and the baby would come out an orc.

Argonians and Khajiit cannot breed outside their species.

Incorrect.

Bretons are humans with significant Elf ancestry far, far back. They are called humans, have more human than elvish faces, and tend to couple with other humans as partners. Also, that period when the nedes were enslaved is getting farther and farther behind them as time passes on. The Bretons have developed as their own race, not just half-man half-elf. They just happen to pass on a few small Elven traits to their offspring. They came from hybrids, but are no longer hybrids. If this ancestral logic you're using applied to all races, Imperial Nobility would be half-snake!

Thomas Jefferson's living black descendants aren't called half-white, they're called black. Because his presence in their genes is less and less significant over time.

They're the only races close enough in height that they don't make each other uncomfortable up close XD

Yes I have. I RP'd a half Redguard half Nord hunter who's mother was violated by a drunken Nord. growing up, he learned to despise those who gave him the wholly inappropriate name of...http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/9477/screenshot13thy.jpg. The folks he grew up hating were naturally Nords.

This was an RP which quickly became one of my favorites since I started playing TES. Just trying to get into my characters head, and figuring out what he would do and why he would do it was the fun part. Oddly enough he never lashed out violently (without first being provoked) at the Nords which he had a seething hatred for

They are certainly in the Lore, generally having the unique racial abilities of their mothers but still impacted by those of their father. Note the forlorn watchman (a bosmer) has a Reguard Daughter

My character is a wood elf who had an imperial/Breton father. In TES I usually role this character, familiarity of human culture/features, with aesthetics/ culture of a wood elf. Lots of fun.

My character http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v90/subrosa_florens/Skyrim/Skyrim349.jpg was of mixed ancestry. Her mother Sadira was a Dunmer, and her father a Nord. Bendis was born and raised in Windhelm's Grey Quarter, living there with her mother. Sadira refused to tell her who her father was. But from her lack of an Ancestor's Wrath power, an instead having a resistance to frost like a Nord, Bendis was able to figure out what her father's race must have been. In fact, he was Rolff Stone Fist. When Rolff had been young he had fallen in love with Sadira, and after she became pregnant, he proposed marriage. But Sadira refused. It was one thing to have a little meaningless six with a Nord after all, but quite another to marry one! After all, Nords were practically beasts. Rolff's heart became bitter after her rejection, and that is how he became the bigot we all know and love today.
