15 hours straight.........into a brick wall.

So i just spent 15hrs learning how to use blender 2.6 in order to make collision-less meshes for my display room. I'm making letters and numbers for custom labels on book shelves and weapon racks.

I was hoping I'd be able to use my exported .3ds files in nifscope but i can't seem to get it going.

If i import to a fresh nif my UV is intact but the BSProperties in the NiTriShape is greyed out.

Alternatively...

If I import to an existing Skyrim mesh the BS Properies is lit up and ready for the BSlLightingShader but the UV is fubar'd(gone).

One of the comments i've read in the last few hours said that pasting over the existing data block with a copy of my data would work but i get triangle errors doing that.

I know one step(from what i have read) that i may have missed and could explain the errors is the lack of vertex painting.

Is this necessary ( i'll learn how to do it, that's not an issue, the vertex paint that is) or will I need to revert back to 2.49 and relearn it all over again. I would really hate to have to do that because i hear the 2.49 interface is even worse than 2.6 and that was a bear to comprehend.

I may end up just waiting for 2.6 to get with the program, but.....my head hurts and I'm strung out. I'll be back tomorrow to give it another go and in the mean time, hopefully some of you can tell me something i was not able to glean from the dozens of tutorials I've watched and read.

Know that if the avenue i'm on is in fact a dead end, i am aware of Insanity's Blender to Skyrim Tut. and will be following that If i come back tomorrow to a face full of brick.
