I post this so someone can perhaps help me with my issue. I′ve been playing skyrim for about a year. I′suffered frequent ctd′s, but not so many as to make playing impossible. Sometimes it got worse, sometimes I could play for more than two hours with no problem. Ctd′s always happened outside, never or rarely in buildings or dungeons, caves, etc. About one month ago the ctd′s started happening consistently when approaching certain areas (dawnstar, winterhold), making it really difficult to get close to them. so finally I decided to get rid of my level 48 character (my action man for one year, sigh) and uninstall skyrim to start from scratch.
I have followed the STEP recomendations when reinstalling. And I have switched to wrye bash to manage my mods, instead of NMM. Now my game works worse than ever, not because of crashes, but because of the really bad performance, with huge fps loss (average 14, as reported by fraps) and very annoying stuttering, something that didn′t happen as noticeably before I uninstalled and reinstalled again.
I have unistalled and reinstalled a third time and this bad performance happens even before I install a single mod. I know that my rig is not that good, but I′ve been able to play skyrim smoothly before, even with more than 50 mods installed, so I can′t understand what the problem is now.
I use Intel Core Quad 2.3 GHz, 3Gb, GPU NVIDIA GT120 1Gb
I′d love to post my xdiag, but I can′t find the way to create a spoiler tag.
I swear I′ve tried hard to make the game work on my own, reading forums, learning to use new tools, etc. but now I really dont know what else to do, so any help would be very welcome. I love this game, sh*t!
Thanks in advance
