My test of the extended barrier at the border of Skyrim

Well, I did a test on the barrier by Falkreath to see what all the hubub was about.

First I checked the distance that I could already go with everything downloaded. I measured it by the trees to my left. I was able to get as far as past two trees not on the mountain.

Then I made new saves, and I deleted everything dlc related, and the title updates and cleared my cache, just to be safe. I started the game up, and The distance I could walk was exactly the same.

To be absolutely sure, I loaded up a completely new game on my brother's xbox. No updates, it was offline, and obviously no dlcs. It was straight up vanilla. As vanilla as it gets. The distance I could walk was exactly the same.

I was a little disappointed, but I had to try it after reading the other thread on the subject.

Were there rumors of any other gate barriers being extended? If so, let me know and I'll test it, or someone else could. I'd rather not have to go redownload everything again.

Good thorough controlled test.

This is the first I've heard of these rumors... :ermm:

Was there a video of this? If so, I suspect someone managed to tweek their INI file on their 'Box, as there is an INI line to disable the invisible worldspace border walls.

I don't know if there is a video or not. The first I heard of this was from a previous thread. http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1432408-road-out-of-skyrim/
