My young mage has not discovered a wand or staff yet. So I'm wondering if there are weapons in the game designed to magnify the casting power of mages ?

Yes I know there are weapons with magics attached ...such as a dagger etc,I'm asking if there are weapons/tools that facilitate the casting power of a mage ? can these be crafted ?

There is no weapon Only for mages.

You can enchant weapons to have magical abilities such as catching enemies on fire when attacking them. Other than that it's there are staves.

Staves will not increase damage. They have a set amount of damage that they deal, pending the staff as they vary, in type and power. They are primarily used when a Mage runs out of magicka. However, anyone can pick up a staff and use it. The amount of usage you get form it depends on the associated skill level of the player.

If a player has a high Destruction skill and a low Conjuration skill. They will get more uses from a fully charged staff of Destruction ( Staff of Flames ) than a Conjuration staff ( Staff of the Familiar).

A skilled destruction mage with augmented powers will do extra damage when using damage enchanted weapons or using magical staves that deal destruction damge. They will also be more efficient in the use of magickal energy stored in the enchanted weapons and staves and will be able to deal more attacks before needing to be recharged again.

Magicka staves and weapons can be used by anyone, but mages have certain advantages when using them.

Conjured weapons are a branch of conjuration which is under magic. The downfall is that a mage still has to level additionally in stamina and also in that specific weapon skill to enable maximum effectiveness
