Six years ago, it was top of the line. But it's so old now that most Geforce drivers don't work correctly with it any more. As long as you aren't going for the higher screen resolutions that Bethesda wanted you to try with Skyrim, your card isn't that bad, yet. Skyrim's graphics aren't nearly as demanding as most games the same general age as this game is.
The information you gave in this thread is too limited so far to do anything with in regard to the saves you have trouble with. Maybe, if you already provided more system information that would have helped, you should have re-used a prior thread instead of starting another.
P. S. I see that as far as we know in here, you haven't yet sorted out whether your power supply is bad, or your computer has been overheating. You just stopped responding in that thread, same as in still another question, also about the graphics shutting down on you. I've already, in one of those threads, listed the system information points that can be helpful, and one of the folks here who likes DxDiag reports has already told you to post the entire thing in Spoiler markers, not merely the top 2% of it.
