Origin of "Alduin"

So I tried to contact Bethesta studios but no one would reply my e-mail so I'll try here =)

I'm quite curious as from where does the name Alduin comes from, and who came up with it?
The reason why I'm asking is because I started to play MUME -Multi User in Middle Earth (a MUD-Multi User Dungeon) when I was around 14 years old
and I named my first main character there Alduin. This is the time before 56k internet modems.
So I had quite a pleasant surprise when I heard the name "Alduin". Me and my old MUME-pall nearly fell out of our seats when we first heard the name when we started Skyrim.

I think it's really cool, and I would just like to hear the story behind it.

I'm Swedish, not American, so I have no interest in any copyright issues what so ever.
I would just like an answer :)

Thanx for an awsome game and Merry Christmas and a Happy Newyear!

Al-Du-In = Destroyer Devour Master in dragon language translation

I wonder why any combination of any three words in the dragon language would make the result sounds cool?... Maybe it's like any Japanese words would sound cool to me because I just don't understand them! :D

It's dragon language which pretty much directly translates as "Destroyer Devour Master". As for where Bethesda came up with that name and the language, it's most likely coincidence, but who knows? Maybe they found out about your old character somehow and thought it was a cool name. Just out of curiosity, why did you call your character Alduin?

Maybe most of your questions would be answered in the Skyrim Game Guide book, it is more than 800 pages.
