Can Imperials and Stormcloaks agree on one thing?

Post » Sun Dec 23, 2012 8:10 pm

Don't both Imperials and Stormcloaks want to get rid of the Thalmor? They only seem to disagree on how to go about attacking them. But, other than that, they both are opposed to the Thalmor.

Also...

Stormcloaks: is the Empire worth keeping around and can it be reformed? What would cause you to fight for the Empire?

Imperials: could an independent Skyrim be in a better position to fight the Dominion than the Empire? What would cause you to fight for the Stormcloaks?

As a pro-imperial, I think the Empire is better than an independent Skyirm. I think that Ulfric is incompetent as a leader and that his plans are shortsighted at best. I also think that Skyrim, even with all of its proposed alliances, would not fare as good as a united Empire. In short, the Empire is a better choice because it is easier to fix something than to create a new one from scratch

However, if the Empire does not fulfill its promise of declaring war on the Dominion when the civil war is wrapped up, then I would join the Storcmlcloaks. I can understand waiting until the time is ripe, but if they do not attack even then, it is clear that they have no plans to attack anytime in the near future. It would be more advantageous for the provinces themselves to attack without the Empire.

Alright, discuss anything about what is written above but keep it civil.

Edit: Cripes, they made another thread.

The Mede Empire only cares about Cyrodil. And the only reason the Mede Empire is still alive is because of the Nords.

General Tullius and the Guards seem to think that the Thalmor are out of Skyrim with there rule...

In Short Answer: They can agree on one thing

They want each other gone/dead

If it is clear that both want to get rid of the thalmor and somwehat restore the worship of talos... then the entire movement of Ulfric is a fool action, just destined to divide and weaken the forces that should remain united for that goal.

Does General Tullius? At the end of the CW Questline he says

"What did you say?"

After

You Kill Ulfric Stormcloak and Rikke says Talos be with you

Of course, as I stated in another thread, the religious thing was just an excuse.

The Stormcloaks just need to stop and realize that the best way to fight the Thalmor is to back the Empire. Pretty sure that if they managed to beat down the Thalmor the worship of Talos would no longer be banned. I mean as a whole I never really cared all that much for the Empire (Morrowind certainly gave me a few reasons not to like them so much) but in this case it is definitely the lesser of the evils. I mean the Empire is at least willing to negotiate in ways that can benefit all.
