Armor Styles (throughout the games)

I've had this elder scrolls question for a long time now and I figure some of you lore friendly fans may be able to help so here goes. When new games come out after morrowind like oblivion and skyrim and they have the same armor ,for example iron armor, is the armor in oblivion just a graphically enhanced version of what they wanted in morrowind or is the reason for a new design because of like the time period and culture of the continents. Because I was going to start designing morrowind armors during the skyrim time period and i was just wondering. Like I get the skyrim iron armor because it has that Nordic feel to it but sometimes they'll have stuff like stahlrim armor where it was in skyrim (dragonborn dlc) and morrowind (blood moon dlc) and I just can't tell why the armor looks different. Culture/time period of the continent or the developers changing the design to look cooler for games today. What do you think? And I apologize if there is a similar topic.

they dont stay true to the look of the armor from game to game. they reinvent it each time. im not quite sure why either as morrowinds armor was spot on. i loved every armor from MW and then skyrim comes out and puts a skirt on everything
