Help with containers - activation and wo havok

Post » Wed Dec 26, 2012 12:38 pm

I am trying to set up some interesting storage containers for my Alchemy Lab.

Several, have a havok issue, that I can't figure out. Namely, SpiderWebSackSkeever and BeeHive.

I was able to set the WebSack to "Don't Havok settle" by checking the box to keep it hanging in place. However, if I bump into either of them...they fall. I cannot figure out how to keep them from doing that.

Then there is a container named...MammothContainer 01. (not the cheese container) While it was in the list of containers in the game, I can't interact with it. How do I get it to respond like a normal container?

There are two ways a container can be setup. One is to have the trigger built into the mesh examples of these are barrels and chests. Another is to have separate primitives layed over a static object with trigger and container scripts applied to them, this is how the bookshelves work. My advice is to find the mammoth container in the game world(open use info) and see how beth has it set up.

As far as the don't havok settle is concerned, that behaves the way it is supposed to. What i would do is surround the object with primitives flagged as L_Unidentified, the book shelves use these and they allow your cross hair to see through them but won't let objects pass through.
